Whats it like to travel or live in Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake) area of Virginia anyway

I traveled there last summer. I'd think it would be wonderful to live there, but personally I'd probably prefer living there in the slower off-season. It was beautiful to vacation there, though. Best part of the vacation, and I'd do it again.

I live in virginia and it's crowded alot but virginia beach if you see the beach ity is beautiful at sunset

Within Chesepeake, there is a nice little community called Great Bridge. It has everything you will need to feel at home, without feeling "boxed in", by a fast paced life. The Albermarle & Chesapeake Canal, part of the Atlantic Inter Coastal Waterway offers a very nice family oriented park, in Great Bridge, where you can watch boats of all sizes move thru the locks. A short drive in any direction will take you to a shopping center (Greenbriar, has all of the major stores) and fine dining. Beaches are close enough for a day trip to Virginia Beach, as well as North Carolina. The school system is one of the best in the State and Chesapeake has a good hospital. The library system is state of the art and has a wonderful children's program. From Chesapeake to the mountains (Skyline Drive), is approximately 4 hours, perfect for a week-end get-a-way. If you're planning to buy a house, check out the Brandermill and Etheridge Meadows areas. You should spend a few days visiting the different areas, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Portsmouth and Chesapeake, before you make a final decision. I'm sure a realtor would be happy to show you around and give you some good advice.
